Taken just before, or just after, the very first time I've ever seen a wild deer - there wasn't much to see, just a white backside hopping its way into the trees. Still, it was a deer, and I saw it.

2nd walk of 2012, and the first part of walking the entire distance around the Kielder Reservoir, from Tower Knowle, to Leaplish.

A 10-mile journey there and back, in some of the worst weather our lovely, sunny British May has to offer. Almost the entire journey back, we had to endure wind, hail and rain. Not exactly ideal. It's the first of these walks that the weather actually turned against us.
